Prehistoric Adventure Strikes Gold

Apparently the new movie “10,000 BC,” brought in about $35.7 million this last weekend. I have not seen it but being an art historian, I have some doubts as to the authentisity of the movie. I may have to see it even though it looks unrealistic. Anyone seen it yet? Is it worth it my money?

At Charter School, Higher Teacher Pay

A New York City Charter School is opting to pay teachers $125,000/year. But will higher salaries lure "better" teachers, as the schools princlipal claims? I think it will lure any and all teachers no matter how good they are. The teachers would hold more responsibilities such as attendance coordinators and discipline deans. Sounds great! Sign me up!

Mia

This is me with my beautiful step-daughter (to be) named Mia. She will be five this September which she is very excited about. She was a cat this last halloween and I love this picture because it reminds me of how much fun we had that day.

Rembrandt Art Fair

This years European Fine Art Fair in the Netherlands had mixed reviews and sales were low. Art dealers said it seemed to be slower this year for some reason. The fair included Rembrandts, Warhols, opulent French furniture and rare antiquities. I wish I had the money to go and buy some, maybe some day :)

Moving this week

My apartment is a disaster area with boxes in every corner I can find. I hate the process of moving but I LOVE my new house. Friday is my closing day and I move in this Saturday. It's hard to concentrate on school with this so close on the horizon.

I'm closing on my new house in two weeks and I'm very excited! This will be my first house and I can't wait to move. Wish me luck.
